Nothin' new...

Not much new to report. Icarus is inching along, I've sold some things on my Etsy shop, and I've been working. I've been working WAY more than I want to be.

I'm also debating whether or not I should sign up to be a hostess for SP9. It's early, I know; they haven't even asked for help yet. I'd like to, but if there are alot of hateful/hurtful feelings going around again, well, then I'd rather not. I haven't been on the recieving end of any of the drama shit, but I've witnessed.

I'm just trying to make up my mind before the time is upon us.

I have the evil monthlies.

About three months (or so) ago, I stopped taking The Pill at the advice of my therapist, as it seemed to be affecting my mood in a bad way. The first monthly after this was fine, more cramping than when I was on The Pill, but bearable. Then, last month, OH MY GOD it was terrible. I woke up cramping at 4am, and had to call in to work, and was miserable and grouchy all day.

Then, this month (er...last night), I wake up cramping at 4am YET AGAIN. Luckily I was off work today, so no missed time, but I have to miss Chicks With Sticks because I'm so miserable. I did consider going very briefly, but I just don't feel like leaving or even getting dressed at all.

And what's with my being grouchy? Before I EVER started taking the pill (about 3 years ago), I was NEVER grouchy with the monthlies! I just had terrible cramps. I was on the pill for about six months, then I stopped taking it because I couldn't afford it and it negatively affected my mood. I was not grouchy then, or for the next two years when I wasn't on the pill. Then, last year, I tried a different brand, which was better for my mood, but ultimatly I had to stop taking it, and now I have grouchies! It's so weird.

Okay. I'm all finished with the "Too Freaking Much Info" rant.

Update-a-saurus Rex

More stitchmarkers up on Etsy!

i'll be putting some soap up later - I'm waiting on it to set right now. It is NOT the best soap I have made, but far from the worst. It was my first try at making several bars of different scents and colors at once, and it didn't work as well as I had hoped. If they end up THAT bad (which I know one will), I'll just melt them down one by one and try again.

Not much progress has been made on Icarus, mostly because the stitchmarkers and soap have been taking up my time. I have tomorrow off work, so maybe I'll get something done.

I'll be able to go to Chick With Sticks at Bluebonnet Yarn tomorrow, for the first time since June, and I am SO FREAKING EXCITED. There would be jumping up and down if my toe didn't hurt.

quick post

Okay, quick post because Bryce is hovering over my shoulder, waiting for the computer.

I have some sets of stitchmarkers up on Etsy:

I've also started Mim's Icarus shawl from Summer IK. I'm using Jaegerspun Zephyr in Ebony, and I absolutely LOVE it. I want to make more lace items so I can use it more.

I hobbled into work today.

The store manager heard what had happened and told me not to come back until I had been looked at. By a professional.

So I have a doctor appointment today at 2pm. We shall see how that goes.

And now for a photographic journey of what happened.

I was walking to the computer to write down my secret pal's address so I could send her a package. I narrowly avoided this monstrosity

which was sitting in the middle of the floor for I don't know what reason (it's Bryce's shit - I don't mess with it), only to have my toe crash into this thing

which is up against the wall and should not be obstructing the NORMAL walkway. The crate is my shit. And NOT IN THE WAY. (Interesting fact - the item I was trying to avoid is STILL obstructing the walkway. That little thing is FAR too heavy for me to lift - I think it's some sort of battery backup. Thanks for avoiding future problems, hon.) Insert my retelling of the story from last night here. The injuries resulting from this incident look like this:

A bit of a closer view:

Injured toe, top view:

Normal toe, for comparison:

In happier news, just before I left to go visit my family for the holiday, I got a "cheer up, think pink" package from my Secret Pal. In it, there was a really sweet card, some Pop Rocks Bubble Gum (which, honestly, I didn't not chew. I just ate it. It tasted good, though), a Pez dispenser with a heart that says "smile" on it (I love PEZ - I collect them - I don't think she knew that!), a Hello Kitty car freshener that looks like a charm bracelet for my rearview mirror (not pictured cause I had to put it on RIGHT when I got the mail. Seriously - SO CUTE), and a package of Crystal Light On the Go in Raspberry Ice. It was pretty tasty, but would've been better if it weren't sugar-free. I like my sugar. THANKS PAL!

Also, had a GREAT 4th of July! Here are two of my favorite pictures, but click this link if you want to see the rest (if it asks for a password, the read-only password is: password):

Freakin' OW

I had planned to blog today, then forgot to recharge the batteries for my camera, so I have no pictures (I suck, I know), and then (and here comes the "freakin' OW" part) I broke my toe.

I stubbed it on this milk crate that currently has, like, a thousand CDs in it, and I heard sort of a pop (like a knuckle popping), but stupid me, I thought it was just the sound of me stubbing it. It hurt like hell, and I was curled up on the floor holding it and crying for a while. It was swollen and red, but I thought (again, stupid me), that I had just stubbed it REALLY BAD. Keep in mind I've never broken ANYTHING, or had any sort of medical emergency.

Well, I had some errands to run, so I thought, "What the hell?" and went about my merry way. Now, this toe I "stubbed" is on my driving foot (aka, my right foot), and with every press on the gas and brake, the pain seemed to get worse and worse. When I finally got home, about two and a half hours later, I can barely walk, and the toe is twice the size of my non-broken one and all bruised. I CANNOT move this toe - I can barely walk. I called my mom, and she said it isn't worth going to the doctor/hospital over. They'll just give me painkillers and a bill, and I can't afford either.

I can't put ice on my toe, because I have cold urticaria, an allergic reaction to cold tempuratures. I've taken asprin, elevated it, and soaked it in a hot bath with epsom salts. Any other ideas?

Also, I got my bio set up on Etsy today. Nothing up for sale yet, but soon!

So, I really want to sit down and write a nice long post about my holiday, my most recent sp8 package, and many other things. However, on weekends, I only get the computer for half an hour in the morning (when Bryce is in the shower). Tomorrow I should be getting some free time to write something.

Edit: I named my car Kate, and then later found out that she is apparently a drag queen, as she has the wimpiest horn ever. If horns could have a lisp, she would.
